Bachelors Degrees in Germany

• Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate, such as A-Levels, IB Diploma, or a high school diploma, and your transcript of records.  

• A subject-related higher education entrance qualification.  

Depending on your qualifications, you might have to meet additional requirements, such as successfully passing a university entrance examination or one of our preparation programmes, to ensure you are ready to study with us.

We accept the following English language skills certificates*: 

• TOEFL (minimum 80 points)* or

• IELTS (minimum Level 6)* or

• Duolingo English Test (minimum 95 points)* or

• Cambridge Certificate (minimum Grade B)* 

*Proof must not be older than five years. 

Alternative ways to prove your English language skills: 

• Educational background: If your previous studies were conducted in English, you are exempt from providing an official test. Simply submit your high school or university transcripts indicating that English was the language of instruction, or provide a medium of instruction letter. Note: A high school medium of instruction letter is valid for five years, while a university-issued one has no expiration date.

• Citizenship: If you are from a country where English is the official and educational language, your passport can serve as proof of English proficiency.

If you are a non-European Union / international student, you will likely need a German student visa to study in Germany. To obtain a student visa, you generally need an acceptance letter from a German university, proof of sufficient funds to cover your living expenses and health insurance coverage. 

If you live in China, India, or Vietnam, you will also need to obtain an APS certificate in order to study at IU. 

A Bachelor's degree in Germany in most universities typically lasts three to four years, depending on your study programme. At IU International University of Applied Sciences, we offer only full-time programmes that run across four years.

Different universities have different intake dates. Applying to study at IU is quick and easy! For most of our English-taught Bachelor's degrees in Germany, we offer four intakes: January, April, July or October.
