Recognising advances in online education: IU Group wins major awards
The panel at the EdTechX awards in London have decided. Their verdict? IU Group’s mission to make high-quality learning available to everyone is making waves across the education sector.
You need to know that the place you plan to study has a good reputation. That it’s a true innovator but that it also has the proven know-how and the established connections that can help you translate qualifications into career success.
That’s why news that IU’s parent organisation has won the coveted EdTechX Leviathan Award should be of interest to everyone dreaming of a better future.
An award from industry experts
The award ceremony came as the centrepiece of London EdTech Week. Over 5000 inspirational education innovators, investors and interested parties from around the world came together to share ideas and to chart an exciting, learner-led future. From sessions about different students’ needs in different markets or how the future of AI can help satisfy them, every topic was being discussed by industry insiders.
The fact that awards were given by these experts is partly why recognition with a Leviathan Award was particularly satisfying. Each year, the award is given only to the most mature and profitable businesses in the sector. Judges praised IU Group’s ‘rapid growth trajectory’ and the way it ‘democratises education at scale’.
What makes this win even more of an achievement is the fact that there were six other candidates in the same category, ranging from an innovative note-taking app to a global education technology company. Giving the award to an education provider such as IU shows how far we have come in a short space of time.
This is the second year in succession that IU Group have claimed the award. It is also one of two recent wins that the IU Group are celebrating. The second is just as significant for the student experience.
Recognition for Syntea
At the online Global EdTech Awards 2024, IU received the Award for Best AI Integration for its use of the groundbreaking Syntea tool.
Syntea is the name given to IU’s new, AI-driven tutor. It helps provide students with a virtual learning experience without the need for human involvement. Using Syntea, students can prepare for exams, access learning support tailored to their needs and have a private tutor without the need to wait – or pay – for one.
All the awards recognise IU’s exponential growth. Over 130,000 students have now trusted us to support them with innovative, flexible learning to help them realise their goals. That number is growing all the time. And the awards also recognise the spirit of continuous innovation that attracts many of those students who believe in the flexibility of learning without limits.
Looking ahead
For IU and our students, the future is very bright indeed. More features are scheduled to be rolled out for Syntea and the growth that has won the Leviathan Award for two years running is set to continue.
Congratulations are due to the hard work of IU’s dedicated staff and, of course, to our students. We’re excited to have them with us on the journey towards a future where education is flexible, innovative and completely uncompromising.
