Living in Bad Honnef

Enjoy a lower cost of living and a higher quality of life

When it comes to living costs, Bad Honnef offers a more affordable alternative to city living without compromising on quality. You'll find that housing, groceries, and other essentials are generally lower in price than in larger cities like Berlin, giving you more financial freedom to enjoy the finer things in life.

However, bear in mind that your living expenses may vary depending on individual needs and lifestyle. Always remember that emergencies may demand extra costs, so we suggest setting aside a little bit more.

Here's a rough breakdown of the monthly living expenses for an international student in Bad Honnef:

  • Accommodation: €300 to €600 per month (shared apartment/private apartment/student dormitory)
  • Utilities (electricity, water, heating, and internet): €50-€100 per month.
  • Groceries and food: €200-€300 per month
  • Transportation: €50-€80 per month (depending on the specific zones you need to access)
  • Health insurance: €80-€120 per month.
  • Leisure activities: €50-€100 per month (going out with friends, visiting nearby attractions, participating in clubs or sports)
  • Miscellaneous expenses (clothing, personal care, etc.): €50-€100 per month

Adding up all these expenses, an international student in Bad Honnef can expect to spend around €780 to €1,350 per month on living costs, excluding tuition fees.
