How does it work?
Step 1
Apply to study online at IU
Simply fill out our online application form, choose one of the participating degree programmes, and select the online study model. Our Study Advisory Team will start your admissions process once your documents have been submitted and verified.
Step 2
Start studying online at IU
With our innovative digital platform and tools, you’ll spend the first one or two years of your study programme at IU online, from wherever you are.
Step 3
Apply to study at ICMS for your final year
Send in your Study Abroad application to ICMS at least 12 months before your preferred start date. This will give you enough time to sort out your visa application and accommodation abroad.
Step 4
Complete your studies and graduate with an ICMS degree
You’ll then complete your final year physically at one of their two campuses in Sydney, Australia, and graduate with a degree from ICMS.

Students are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during the term and up to 40 hours per week during term breaks.

Am I eligible for the Study Abroad programme at ICMS?

You must meet the following criteria at the time of your application:
- Be enrolled at IU as a student
- Completed one or two years of studies at IU (depending on your degree) with a pass in all courses
- Have proof of English skills
- Meet the relevant admissions criteria at ICMS

What do I need to provide in my Study Abroad application?

Once you've started your online studies at IU and want to sign up for the Study Abroad Alliance the following will most likely be needed:
- The Study Abroad application form
- Official transcripts in English (with signature & stamp of home institution)
- Proof of English proficiency:
- TOEFL IBT: 69 (Bachelor/GCB) & 79 (Master)
- IELTS: 6.0 (Bachelor/GCB) & 6.5 (Master)
- Valid passport copy (copy of ID preliminarily sufficient)

Which degree will I receive at the end of my studies?

You will receive an Australian degree from ICMS when you graduate. Once you’ve successfully transferred to ICMS during your final year, your study contract with IU will end. Any questions pertaining to your degree henceforth should be directed to the ICMS team.

Will IU assist in my Australian student visa application?

IU is only facilitating the Study Abroad process. Should you require assistance relating to visa application, enrolment at ICMS, or Study Abroad application, please reach out to the ICMS team directly.

Does the IU Scholarship cover my final year at ICMS?

No, the IU Scholarship will only be applied to your tuition fees for your study period at IU. However, the Study Abroad partnership allows you to enjoy lower tuition fees compared to if you had completed your entire degree programme in Australia.
